BK GIRLS WIN 2010 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Goalie Katy Dalrymple celebrates the Knight's upset win over Eagle in the State final, played in the rainy wet conditions at BK Lax Field.
Bishop Kelly 13 Eagle 8
The Knights edged Eagle in the 4A-5A Idaho Girls State Lacrosse Championship 13-8 behind four goals by senior Sarah Hassell to earn their second consecutive title. Sophomore Megan Marcus added 3 goals and goalie Katie Dalrymple had six big saves in the contest. Head Coach JoJo Brunelle marked her 100th game at the helm for BK with the win and is now 84-15-1 in six seasons for the Knights. The title was BK’s third in the past five years (2006-2009-2010).
Borah 13 Centennial 9
The Borah Lions, coming off a big win over Boise earlier in the week, edged Centennial in the 3rd place contest. The Lions were paced by Emily Russell, Max Steed-Elliott and Kassi Schlund in the scoring, and goalie Shayla Lindsey came through with 15 stops.
Head Coach Ohran Schlund, who has taken Borah to the Final Four twice in just two seasons at the helm, led the Lions to their highest finish in state in a number of seasons.
